Founded in 1869, Prince Alfred College is one of Adelaide’s oldest day and boarding schools for boys from Early Learning Centre age through to Year 12. The College and its facilities sit on 9.8hectare grounds in leafy Kent Town, and are home to campus buildings, classrooms, function areas, auditorium and performance halls, a flexible health and sports facility and a health centre, to name a few.
ServiceFM has been Prince Alfred College’s cleaning partner since 2015, supporting the College’s Facilities team with a wide range of cleaning services, helping to create a clean, safe and hygienic environment for all.
All schools are highly active environments with a constant flow of students, teachers and staff. This means there is heavy wear and tear on buildings, extensive sporting activities, high foot traffic and intensive use of locker rooms and common areas. Spills, dirt, bacteria and odours can accumulate quickly, while school schedules limit the time available for cleaning during the day. Balancing cleanliness with safety, discretion and minimal disruption requires experience and careful planning – that’s where ServiceFM comes in.
Our team’s approach is built around the College’s needs. We understand that these needs differ greatly throughout the year, depending on the season, milestones in the school year and special events and functions.
ServiceFM’s solution is built on strategic scheduling where possible, and flexibility when needed. In total, our team looks after eight buildings on campus.
Prior to every new school term starting, ServiceFM takes care of cleaning all areas to make sure students, teachers and staff start the term in a clean, pleasant and welcoming environment. Our team of experienced cleaners works closely with the College’s Housekeeping and Maintenance team to ensure that all works are planned, coordinated and delivered smoothly. They choose the right cleaning methods and equipment given the specific characteristics and requirements of each site.

Service FM was affiliated with our school long before I started working at PAC. Since joining PAC Housekeeping in December 2022, I’ve developed a great relationship with the service manager for ServiceFM. Their staff are friendly and approachable, and the management is always responsive to our needs. They provide support regarding contracted cleaning and any additional requests, emphasising the importance of good communication and collaboration.
