eSafe by ServiceFM: Your electrical compliance needs, sorted!

Electrical safety in the workplace is more than a legal requirement, it’s a critical part of protecting your people, operations, and assets.

Since 2003, eSafe by ServiceFM has led the charge in helping Australian businesses meet their electrical compliance obligations efficiently and affordably.

With 100+ trained technicians across Australia, and advanced systems in place, eSafe ensures workplaces across healthcare, education, hospitality, manufacturing, and government sectors stay safe, compliant, and operational.

What is eSafe by ServiceFM?

eSafe is the electrical compliance division of ServiceFM, offering preventative maintenance and risk mitigation services that help businesses meet safety standards such as AS/NZS 3760:2022 and AS/NZS 2293.1.

It was founded to fill the growing need for reliable, nationwide electrical safety testing services, and today, it’s recognised as a trusted partner by some of Australia’s largest institutions and organisations.

One provider, offering all of your electrical compliance needs.

At the heart of eSafe’s offering is a suite of essential compliance services tailored to meet industry standards and legal obligations.

Test and Tag involves inspecting and electrically testing portable appliances to detect faults and ensure they are safe to use. Compliant equipment is tagged with essential information including test dates and technician ID, while any faulty equipment is clearly marked and reported. We conduct more than 3 million Test & Tag audits every year in Australia.

How it works: Our workers enter your site in ServiceFM uniforms, to ensure you know who’s on your site, and with all appropriate PPE. All recorded data is exported to the eSafe 360 database, and reports are provided so you have a clear picture of your safety status. You’ll know instantly which electrical items are old or don’t meet standard requirements.

Emergency and Exit Light Testing ensures your evacuation paths remain visible and operational during power outages. Our service includes performing a mandatory 90-minute discharge test to comply with emergency lighting standards.

How it works: Our inspections comply with Australian Standards and include a 90-minute discharge test that ensures your systems work appropriately and will function, as mandated, on battery power if there is a power failure. Upon completion of testing, you’ll receive a complete report from our fully trained ServiceFM technicians.

Residual Current Device (RCD) Testing checks that your safety switches trip fast enough to prevent electrical shock and electrical fires. The speed and sensitivity of RCDs are critical in protecting people and property, which is why regular maintenance is essential.

How it works: We can conduct regular and routine inspections of your RCDs to maintain a safe working environment for your employees. Reporting is provided immediately, and can also be accessed in eSafe 360 via a secure login.

Thermal Imaging offers a proactive way to detect overheating components in electrical systems. While not yet mandatory, many insurers now expect regular thermal scans as part of their risk assessment protocols.

How it works: Our Thermal Imaging inspections cover main switch-rooms, switchboards, distribution boards and sub-boards. A detailed Thermal Imaging report is provided with every service, detailing all actions required to make your business safe and compliant.

Microwave Leakage Testing identifies radiation leakage from workplace microwave ovens to ensure compliance with AS/NZS 60335.2.25 and protect staff in break rooms and kitchens.

How it works: Should the microwave not pass the test, a notification will be provided as soon as possible and a Danger Tag will be applied to the microwave oven. Reporting is sent to your inbox, and can be accessed in eSafe 360 via a secure login.

You’ve heard us mention our eSafe 360 software. Essentially, it’s a secure, cloud-based platform that provides clients with real-time access to test results, asset histories, and compliance schedules – simplifying audits and giving you peace of mind.
