Test & Tag Services Sydney
At ServiceFM, workplace safety is central to everything we do, with Test & Tag services a vital element of electrical compliance across all industries. From offices and salons in Sydney to healthcare facilities, Defence sites, and manufacturing operations throughout regional, rural, and remote New South Wales, our solutions are designed to meet the wide-ranging compliance needs of organisations across the state.
Testing and tagging ensures equipment is safe to use and aligned with industry safety standards, helping minimise the risk of injury, electric shock, fire, and operational disruption.
This covers everything from power boards and extension leads to larger plug-in equipment – and all items in between. Maintaining evidence of electrical compliance, including regularly tested and tagged equipment, is often required for insurance purposes. It demonstrates due diligence and helps ensure businesses are covered in case of an incident. Under Australian workplace health and safety laws, employers have a clear duty of care to ensure all electrical equipment is safe.

Frequently asked questions
Testing intervals vary depending on the type of equipment, how it is used, and the environment in which it operates, along with other external influences. These timeframes can range anywhere from every 3 months up to 5 years.
Our team will assess your equipment and environment to determine the appropriate testing frequency, then develop a tailored schedule that aligns with AS/NZS 3760 requirements.
The AS/NZS 3760 standard outlines the requirements for the in-service inspection and testing of electrical equipment, commonly referred to as “test and tag.” It applies to a wide range of plug-in and cord-connected devices, such as power tools, kettles, extension leads, monitors, and equipment used in workshops and industrial environments.
The standard specifies that testing must include a visual inspection for signs of damage, electrical testing, clear labelling showing the test status and date, and proper documentation of all inspections and results.
It also sets out the required testing intervals for different types of equipment and operating environments.
